Wig Care Guide
Caring for Your Human Hair Wig
Your Second Bloom wig is crafted from premium human hair and deserves the same gentle care you'd give your own. With the right routine, your wig will stay beautiful, soft, and natural-looking for a long time to come.
Washing Your Wig
- Wash your wig every 8–10 wears, or when product build-up occurs.
- Use lukewarm water — never hot — to protect the hair fibres.
- Apply a small amount of sulphate-free shampoo and gently work it through the hair from root to tip. Do not scrub or rub.
- Rinse thoroughly until the water runs clear.
- Follow with a moisturising conditioner, avoiding the cap and roots. Leave for 2–3 minutes, then rinse.
Drying Your Wig
- Gently pat (never wring) excess water out with a soft towel.
- Place on a wig stand and allow to air dry naturally wherever possible.
- If using a blow dryer, use the lowest heat setting and keep it moving to avoid heat damage.
Styling Your Wig
- Human hair wigs can be styled with heat tools — always use a heat protectant spray first.
- Use a wide-tooth comb or wig brush, starting from the ends and working upward to detangle gently.
- Avoid excessive heat styling to maintain the longevity of your wig.
Storing Your Wig
- Store on a wig stand or in the original box to maintain its shape.
- Keep away from direct sunlight, humidity, and dust.
- Avoid storing in a plastic bag, which can trap moisture and cause odour.
General Tips
- Avoid sleeping, swimming, or showering in your wig.
- Apply dry shampoo between washes to refresh the style.
- Visit a professional wig stylist for cuts or colour — do not attempt at home.
